Note from our Founder
As the founder of Great Accessibility Online (GAO) I will hold us to the highest standards of inclusion with all of the content provided by our organization.
Our Accessibility First Policy
We will do our best to educate ourselves and you so that we do not discriminate against anyone on the basis of disability.
We hope this value is evident in all of our interactions with our clients, guests, partners, professionals, policymakers, and the general public.
If you encounter any disability-related barriers or have suggestions for how we can improve accessibility, please let us know.
To that end, we are committed to providing physical access, providing auxiliary aids and services, and reasonably modifying our practices when needed to ensure equal access to our activities, facilities, and services.
If you need any accessibility feature, modification, or auxiliary aids, please let us know as early as possible so we can make any needed arrangements.
We are also committed to ensuring that our communications, including our website, are accessible to people with disabilities.
We seek to ensure that all the pages on our website are designed to meet W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, Level AA conformance or better.
We review our website periodically to check and improve accessibility, and we favor third-party web content and technology providers based on their accessibility. If you face any barriers on our website or in other communication channels, please do not hesitate to let me know so we can take corrective action immediately.
Accessibility Features
The goal is to ensure you can control your browsing experience. The following sections below outlines what we consider to be great accessibility standards.
Image Descriptions
All images will have a short alt text and image description.
Reference
The nature of our business involves a lot of terminologies that includes abbreviations, acronyms, scientific and technical terms.
By using the WordPress plugin, CM Tooltips, a link will be provided for the first instance of each terminology with a link to their respective page for additional information.
There will be a site-wide link in the footer available at all times to the Reference page.
Video Accessibility Features
This site will be using Able Player, a fully accessible cross-browser HTML5 media player. For more details, please visit the Able Player web page. All videos will have audio descriptions and captions.
