Captioning Guidelines for the DCMP

  • Limit lines to 32 characters or less, including spaces
  • Limit lines to one or two lines of text per screen
  • Do not separate a modifier from the word it modifies
  • Do not break up prepositional phrases
  • Duration
    • Minimum: 1 second and 10 frames (40 frames total)
    • Maximum: Should not exceed six seconds
