Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC)

A Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies is an entry-level certification that identifies a person who is knowledgeable in specific areas of accessibility in general.

Key acronyms

  • IAAP – International Association of Accessibility Professionals
  • CPACC – Certified Professional in Accessible Core Competencies

Key definitions

  • Competencies – Abilities or skills
  • Domain – Area or topics

With respect to IAAP, some of the terms has been adapted to make it more easier for me to understand and interpret from a Deaf-centric point of view.

For example, IAAP uses the term, domain, which does not exist in ASL. As a result, I would have to fingerspell which defeats the purpose of signing. The closest interpretation would be the sign, topics.
